The Advantages of Fluid Teams: Boston, New York, London

Being part of the Hive Group provides amazing soft perks, including our non-traditional approach to marketing as well as management—such as fluid teams. We are eliminating dated tenets of one physical office and one discrete role. This allows our Hive and Pollen crew to be nimble, self-directed, and relentlessly focused on solutions. While we are typically in our New York Times Square office, today I am in Boston’s Back Bay enjoying the beautiful view from our St. James We Work.

Embracing a fluid team approach also keeps our organization competitive vs. traditional agency organizational models. We seamlessly scale up using our on-demand US staff resources or by collaborating with our London office. The upside for clients is they aren’t charged for unnecessary staff, and each person has directly contributed and bears partial responsibility for our ultimate and collective success. A few of the principles of fluid teams are captured below:

    — Cross-functional collaboration, participation, accountability
    — Fluid, diffused roles and responsibilities
    — Every teammate is empowered to lead
    — Shared vision beyond any individual team member’s success
