NJ Attorney General Outlines New Opioid Program

New leadership announced, including the NJ Coordinator of Addiction Responses and Enforcement Strategy “NJ CARES.” Additionally, the new administration under Phil Murphy, New Jersey’s Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal will lead the charge against opioids. Part of the program includes a new website that chronicles current opioid-related data including overdose deaths, naloxone administration, and opioid prescriptions. The site is in addition to the database allowing prescribers to check a patient’s history with addictive medicines in more than a dozen other states, often called the “Oxy Highway.” We hope to see more strides in applying technology to reduce opioid use.
